"Art therapy" and "art as therapy" are two different approaches to using art in a therapeutic setting, although they are often used interchangeably.

It is a more informal and personal approach to using art in a therapeutic setting. In this approach, individuals use art as a means of self-expression and exploration, without the guidance or direction of a therapist.

While art therapy and art as therapy share some similarities, there are some key differences. Art therapy is a formal therapeutic approach that is typically conducted in a clinical setting with a trained professional. It involves a structured process and may be used to address specific psychological issues. Art as therapy is a more informal approach that is often used for personal growth and self-expression.
